It’s fun to wake up on a lazy Sunday morning and find a picture of yourself and your daughter in the Gray Lady.
The New York Times had a great story on the evolution of dad roles, and I played a bit part in the story, while Emme and I are featured in one of the pictures … buying ice cream. Ah yes, the grueling life of a stay-at-home dad ….
But you see, it’s not often we hear the ice cream man go jingle jangling down our block, so this probably illustrates our priorities more than anything: Even if a New York Times photographer is over to do a quaint little portrait for the Sunday paper, you run like hell when you hear the ice cream man. It was worth it.
