Let’s start 2014 with a bang.
And a giveaway.
My good friend Whit Honea wrote a fabulous book to help you navigate the crazy world of questions from kids. You probably know this world well.
But what happens when the questions become a little too … tricky? Or situations suddenly arise that you just don’t know how to handle?
Because that never happens in parenting …
Enter the Parents’ Phrase Book, a how-to guide for dealing with every issue from school problems to friendship flareups to a death in the family and so much more.
I bought an early copy and have been absolutely loving the advice and essays. Whit is a gifted writer who has basically taken over the Internet, and I can see why. The essays are fun to read, and the advice is something I know I will call on in years to come. I know this is a weird analogy, but do you remember that Dolly Parton movie from the 90s, when she becomes a radio help jockey and starts dishing no-nonsense advice that just makes sense? That’s what I kept thinking when I was reading this. Whit is basically the new Dr. Shirlee, a good friend who doesn’t let you down when you need some honest advice. Plus, he’s funny as hell.
So how to win?
Enter below using the Rafflecopter doohickey or leave a comment on this post. The contest begins now and will run until Sunday. I’ll send the book and a cool craft to your house if you win.
